Bitcoin Cash (BCH) uses blockchain technology and the same algorithm as the original Bitcoin (SHA-256), but unlike Bitcoin (BTC), it has increased block sizes. From August 1, 2017 to May 15, 2018 from 1 MB to 8 MB, from May 15, 2018 to 32 MB with the prospect of further enlargements. By enlarging the blocks, it is possible to increase the number of transactions per second and minimize transaction costs. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) focuses on cheap and fast transactions. The median Bitcoin Cash (BCH) transaction fee is practically consistently below $ 0.01. With Bitcoin (BTC), the transaction fee is very volatile. At the turn of 2017/2018, it was even over $ 35. Bitcoin (BTC) remained with blocks of 1 MB.
The Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) chains are identical until August 1, 2017. This means that everyone who had Bitcoin before August 1, 2017, had exactly the same amount of BTC and BCH after the split. Unlike Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has not introduced and does not plan to implement the SegWit protocol.
